Spooky.....

I can't believe school has started and the last holiday of summer is over....I love fall but I really hate to see summer end... Here in the northwest our summer hasn't been very hot my pour tomatoes are tiny and green I don't think they will ever ripen before the frost comes ...I have been reading about your gardens out there in blog land and love all the pumpkin pictures ..I'm sorry to say I planted orange, white and Cinderella pumpkins and every one I have is still green..Oh well I guess I'll have to get pumpkins at the local fruit stand to decorate my front porch...
My latest project was spooky the scary cat and his little friend and sidekick mouse..My scary cat is made out of osanburg then painted black and time worn...The little mouse is made out of wool then time worn...With the word spooky cross stitched on the pocket...

I've also been working on strawberries this design is from Nicoletta Farrarito...

The red strawberry is stitched on prairie cloth. Which I dyed red I have also dyed prairie cloth orange for pumpkins and black for spooky's pocket. I find when I stitch something on prairie cloth that I am going to stuff it is super easy to stuff it even and get the shape I want ...The red strawberries design comes for a antique sampler......
Well that's all the stitching news I have for today.....
Happy stitching, Nancy

  1. Love Spooky!! The mouse is cute too and the strawberries. I feel so sad that your wonderful Pumpkins are still green, If I could I would send you a box of mine. I wonder if I could ship them up to you? It is still hot here. So my vines are still growing, I didn't want to pick mine yet but the squash beetles were getting them. I have never seen those bugs before.
I can't wait to see more of your incredible things.
    Have a wonderful week, Nancy.

  3. Hi Nancy
Just found you on Barb's blog site so popped over to take a peek!
Love all your creations ~ Spooky's great, the strawberries look delicious and I absolutely love your candy corn.
I'm afraid I cheat at Halloween and buy my pumpkins from the supermarket but admire everyone else who manages to grow such beauties!
Kiddies are all back to school/college now so I have some 'me' time back again - stitching is calling loudly!!!

  4. Spooky is "spootacular"...cute mouse too. It seems we're all ready for Fall. I've spent the last few days decorating and pulling out all those things I loved last year. Here in the Midwest our festivals are soon to arrive and I can hardly wait to find the perfect gourds and pumpkins. Hope you find yours too!
