I Can't Believe It...........

I thought I would share with all my blog friends my good fortune....I believe you should always buy a raffle ticket for what ever good cause is out there....Buy lemonade from the neighbor kids that are selling it at the end of the street.....But very seldom do I put my name in for freebie....why you ask..well.... I'm not very lucky....I'm lucky in the way that I have a great family that I love and good friends....But not lucky in the sense that I could ever win a contest or a drawing.....But guess what happened......I have been reading Michelle Palmer's blog for a long time and loving every thing she creates her drawing are imaginative and beautiful......So when reading her blog one night I left a comment...never excepting anything to come it....But I was wrong...Look at this absolutely beautiful drawing I won yes I said I won....The drawing is called "We Can Be Friends" and I love it....Please check out Michell's blog at michellepalmerart.blogspot.com. I know you will love it as much as I do.

Thank- you so much Michelle, for this sweet drawing...It look amazing in my home.....
Boy, I hope your day was as good as mine, Nancy

I Love Halloween.....

I have to say....I love Halloween...I have been stitching, sewing, painting, punching and enjoying every minute of it...
I have been working on cats, pumpkins, spiders, moons, stars, ghosts, my sewing room looks like a whirl wind of orange and black went off in it..I have mentioned be for that Mike (my husband) doesn't under stand my creative juices.....He also doesn't under stand why in the middle of July all I can think about is Halloween...But after all these year he just smiles and says "What ever makes you happy".....nice guy...right....
And Happy is what all this sewing does make me....But I have to say I better get on to other things today like laundry and all the other thing it takes to make our home run.....And maybe a yummy dinner....
So I'm off too get some of those thing done....
I'm hoping you are having a great summer, Nancy

Apples.....

Today I have been working on Apples... I know I have talked about this before, But lately I have had this thing for fruit so for the last couple of day apples have been on my mind and this is what I came up with..

I found this great old red print looking fabric. Then dyed prairie cloth to match, so I could cross stitch one of the apple sections. I really like Bees, bee keeps, flowers and especial sun shine this time of year. There was my theme for my cross stitching. I used decorative stitches to outline the sections of the apple when it was stuffed... Then a twig stem with a piece of silk ribbon tied around it... My last step was to pin a rusty safety pin with an old shoe button and an old bone button to the apple....Now I have plans for a yellow and a green apple.... So now back to my sewing room...
I hope you day is full of stitching, Nancy

Don't You Just Love Summer.........

I love summer.... Life around here has been absolutely crazy... Thank goodness for the longer days or I would never get any thing done...

Our favorite Katie graduated with flying colors....and for her it has been party, party, party...

I have been stitching, punching and appliqueing up a storm. I hope to have my new projects
done to show soon... There is something about stitching with red, white and blue that make me super happy....I also have some new fabric from blackbird design I have been working with and a wool project I just started. Then to top it off my mind is full of ideas for pumpkins. I want to enjoy summer, but I also love to think about stitching thing for fall. I must say, I love Halloween.....

Summer is coming quite slow to the northwest we have had our fair share of rain.... But today is beautiful... So I'm on my way outside... I would like to sit under the trees and stitch all day. But I'm sure Katie and Mike have different plans for today... But what ever we do I'm sure it will be great just to be outside and dry.....
I'm hoping your day is sunny and you have lots of time to stitch, Nancy

A Little Reluctant To Share......

I must say I am a little reluctant to share with all my new friends in blog land a condition I have had for many years. I believe I am holiday challenged ...
You see I still have all my spring and Easter decoration up in my home...
Maybe it is because we have had an unusual amount of rain this year in the northwest.
And I love how bright and happy the spring colors make my home feel when is it gray and dark outside.
Or maybe because it has been a little busy around here at the McKenna homestead....
Well what ever the reason... today is the day we go from Easter and spring to summer.
So out come the flags, fire works, watermelons, and sunflowers.... Wish me luck this project could take all day.... The weather man is saying that Saturday should be sunny with temperature all most in the 80's. I hope he is right, I'm ready for summer.
I'm hoping your weather is beautiful and you have plenty of time to stitch, Nancy
