Hopefully Summer Is Just About Here...

Yahooo....It has stopped raining just long enough for me to get my yard cleaned up and my flowers planted...You know what they say about living in the pacific northwest..That summer doesn't start until after the 4th of July....Most of the time we watch fireworks shivering under blankets...Wishing we had hot chocolate...I think this year might be some of the same, with Tuesday having clear skies and temp. in the high 70's....I'm not really complaining this is a beautiful place to live and I'm sure some of you out there in blog land are warmer than you would really like to be...
The best thing that has happened to me is that I have had a little time to stitch and sew...
I though I would share the items I'm listing on Early Work Mercantile tonight....
I can't seam to get enough strawberries...That being said....First of is my robin sitting on a strawberry pin-keep...


Next I'm offering two different size watermelon pillows....



Watermelons always say summer fun to me...





Last is my fabric covered box....cover in a antique summer looking fabric and lined with pages for a children book I found at the bottom of a box that my dear husband thought was garbage..He tries but he never can tell treasures for junk...

Life Has Been Crazy!!!!!

Life has been crazy around here....I guess it is because of all the thing that come with the end of another school year and the start of the summer season....I am finding that I am not getting as much time to stitch and sew as I would like...I did manage to finish one item to list on TDIPT tonight....My summer pillow....Don't you just love flags, watermelon and sunflowers this time of year??? They are my favorite...





I also finished another block on my BOM....I must say it made be very happy, the only problem is it is the block for March....So I have mayor catching up to do...I might finish the quilt in 2014, we can only hope...


And last is a picture from our first family BBQ of the season...I can't think of anything funner than hamburgers and water balloons....

My Favorite Red Head.....

This is a picture of Katie, my favorite red head...She is always kidding me about only posting on my blog pictures of the grand kids...Now I am in big trouble, because she will tell me that this is a terrible picture of herself...But I think she looks super cute..I am on my way to visit Katie in her new, very first apartment....Her personality match her red hair....Really fun and a little crazy.....





The quilt and pillows I just finished for Katie's new room...as far as she is concerned the wilder the fabrics the better...I thought she might like these fun prints designed by Amy Butler...
A far cry from the time worn fabric that I usually work with...I am hoping that they turned out crazy enough for her....LOL





Last of all I start working on the mystery Birds of a Feather sampler from Brenda Gervais....I have to say I am loving every stitch and hope to stay on track to finish it by the end of the summer...Only time will tell, because of every else I have started....But for right now this is the project of my chose...But all of you stitching addicts out there know that tomorrow something else might catch my eye...But that is always the fun of this form of artwork....

Sun Shine and TDIPT.....

Yahoo....we finally have some sun shine....Our day today in absolutely beautiful.....warm and sunny, not a cloud in the sky...Usually by mothers day I have my yard all cleaned up and my flowers planted...But not this year....I am still trying to work through the mud to trim and pull weeds...But today I am on my way out side to try and get my yard ready for flowers before the rain comes back....

Happy May Day....And Early Work Mercantile...

Yahoo....Out of the hundreds of project that I have started (well maybe hundreds is a exaggeration or maybe not) and have been telling all of you fun people out in blog land about, I finished four of them...First off is my flower pin-keep...The cross stitch design came for a antique sampler.....I love any thing that is old and rusty, so I thought the old key and beads might be a nice touch....




Next I moved to wool applique for a candle mat....



Next is my wool appliqued pillow....I have this thing for pillows, I never think a girl can have to many...


My last finish is a wool appliqued strawberry table mat...The appliqued designs I just finished came from Primitive Gathering.
That is what I finished this week....I will be listing all of these items on Early Work Mercantile tonight....If you have the time I would love it if you could stop by and take a look...

I Love people that Stitch and Blog....

I love people that stitch and blog...Thank-you, thank-you for making me laugh....I love all the funny comments you left on my last post...It seams like a lot of you out there are just like me, addicted to starting new projects....



I am happy to say that I did finish a couple of pillows that I am listing on TDIPT tonight...
I have really been in the mood for flowers and since it is so wet here and I can't plant them I decided to stitch them...


All three pillows were fun to make and my finger nail aren't full of dirt as they would be if these flowers were planted in my yard...I guess that is a positive thing...But I still can't wait for a yard full of blooming flowers....
I'm off to fix dinner and then take another stab at my ever growing pile of newly started projects....Thanks again for the funny comments, they made my day....

Do Any Of You Do This???

Hopefully I'm not the only one that does this......I have a big stack of project that are started and another pile of projects that are almost finished....Why do I keep skipping around???
One evening when I sit down to stitch, maybe I feel like cross stitching or maybe punch needle would be fun or should I finish the wool applique that is staring at me...

Anyway I'm almost finished with Sarah Tobias from BB designs...I have the perfect place to hang her sampler..Hopefully she will be of to the framers soon....

I'm still think that I might need one more rabbit....The punch needle design is from country stitches...

When it is really raining hard here...I'm thinking what about a Flag design...Do you think if I stitch something for summer the season might come sooner????? I can only hope..



Last is my me to me Christmas present.....I joined Sue Spargo's Block of the month for 2011...
I have to say.....Great fun...I have finished the January and February blocks.....But it is now April and soon I will be two blocked behind....That is the story of my life....To many project and not enough time...
